Merchandiser : Montreal

Our client, a corporate & promotional items company that services North America is looking for a Merchandiser.

Follow up on progress of prototype to sales sample with overseas supplier on daily basis
Organize library, associate with PD coordinator to create item specification & in-house test result to ensure timely receipt and response
Create and update PD summary including the latest FOB price
Create Power Point presentation files for sales meeting
Coordinate cross functionally with Product Managers, Allocation and Marketing team in support of developing, revising and maintaining category plans
Coordinate cross functionally with Product Management team in assortment planning process by providing analysis and recommendations to maximize sales; profitability and space productivity
Support line reviews including strategy, analysis of current business, sourcing product, negotiating with vendors on cost, and packing
Develop new products including sourcing, quality/ design details approval, pricing, create & modify image of products if necessary
Review retails with pricing to capitalize on opportunities and maintain pricing strategies
Develop in-depth knowledge of the market by visiting competition trade shows and manufacturing facilities
Will be able to merchandise the seasonal collection together that will create value and excitement for our customer and impact overall company success and accurately project sales and margin

Team player with ability to easily liaise with overseas supplier, PD team at Shenzhen office, and other divisions at Montreal HQ
Knowledge of costing for imports to North American Markets is required;
Knowledge of stationery material, terminology, QA processes, production cycles
3 to 5 years in Merchandiser or Product Development for stationery/ promotional item or equivalent related experience
Microsoft Word/ Excel/ Outlook/ PowerPoint
Adobe Photoshop
Must be available to travel
Passionate, detail orientated & self-motivation
Excellent English speaking & writing skills
