SENIOR SYSTEMS VERIFICATION SPECIALIST : R&D : datacom : Montreal : Quebec

This position is located in Montreal (Quebec). You must have a Canadian citizenship or be a permanent resident of Canada to apply.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Systems Verification Manager, you will be responsible for the systems verification of newly developed products. You will actively participate in product development, prior to market launch, working closely with members of the development team early in the cycle. You will develop and execute test strategies and test cases to verify feature functionalities and performance of our telecom test and measurement instruments. The position will give the selected candidate the opportunity to apply and further develop his/her knowledge of protocols including Ethernet, IP, UDP/TCP, IPTV and Fibre Channel.

More specifically, the incumbent will be assigned the following duties:

 Review and analyze product requirements,
 Develop test strategies and test cases,
 Develop test scenarios and scripts to automate tests,
 Perform tests and document observed issues,
 Work with members of the development and support teams to resolve observed issues.

When required, the Senior Systems Verification specialist is expected to perform other tasks related to this position.

Technical requirements

 Knowledge of one or more of the following protocols: Ethernet, IP, UDP/TCP, VLAN, Fibre Channel,
 Knowledge of the following protocols: OTN SONET/SDH would be an asset
 Knowledge of networking products and applications such as routers, network emulators and traffic generation and analysis equipment
 Knowledge of test automation tools
 Knowledge of the following programming language: Visual Basic, Script Perl, Tcl, C#.

Education and professional requirements
 University degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences
 4 to 6 years of software product validation and quality assurance experience in telecommunications, IT or networking
 Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English
